Wiccan Weddings

Well last weekend we went to our first Wiccan Wedding in Wales - in a field - and it was GREAT!

The ceremony was all explained to us before they started and during it - it felt really natural and spiritual! I even had a part to play in the ceremony - I was one of the two holders of the broom! Yes - they jump over a broom towards the end of the ceremony to signify that they can deal with any issues they will face in their life together.

The ceremony was in a field by a river - just gorgeous and the rain held off until after the ceremony and we all camped in the field that night and it stayed dry!

All in all - this was my first ever experience of a Wiccan Wedding but I really think they are the way forward! Due to how the ceremony is done (outside mainly) it also fits the green wedding theme that is a hot topic these days.

We plan to add a Wiccan Handfasting (Wedding) page as well as a green wedding page and while we are at it probably a pink wedding (civil partnerships) page too! so watch this space!
